The Director of the PPP Agency has participated in a promo event “DO invest”

On the 19th of October, the Director of the PPP Agency participated in a promo event “DO invest”, aimed at presenting the investment and export potential of the Donetsk region of Ukraine, raising awareness of the business environment of the region and presenting the Investment Portal of the Donetsk region.

The purpose of the event was to attract international and domestic investors, expand to new markets as well as strengthen business ties between the Donetsk region, foreign partners and other regions of Ukraine.

The PPP Agency recognizes the huge potential of such promo events, as platforms for collaboration on local and international levels, aimed at the development of investment potential of territorial communities. Networking platforms and meetings with the representatives of potential investors, the demonstration of informational materials, regarding the potential projects, including those that can be realised under the public-private partnership model, advances the implementation of projects involving private investments needed by our country to modernize and create new infrastructure as well as to provide high-quality socially significant services.

The event was attended by potential investors; representatives of institutions and bodies responsible for attracting investments and supporting investment involvement; representatives of the Exporters and Investors Council (EIC) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, SI “Entrepreneurship and export promotion office”, SI “UkraineInvest” (Ukraine Investment Promotion Office), Office of the National Investment Council of Ukraine; representatives of diplomatic missions, international organizations, including financial institutions, as well as central and local executive bodies.

Rostyslav Zamlynskyy, the First Deputy Minister for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories of Ukraine, has noted that the development of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions was the goal of the development of the Strategy for Economic Development of Donetsk and Luhansk regions until 2030. The strategy anticipates the business community, international partners, local authorities and other institutions to join their efforts to achieve common goals.

Executive Director of SI “UkraineInvest” (Ukraine Investment Promotion Office), Sergiy Tsivkach, has congratulated the residents of the Donetsk region on significant economic achievements, noting that in early 2021 the industrial capacity increased by more than 7 percent. According to him, the volume of foreign direct investment in the Donetsk region amounted to 2.6 billion US dollars, which is the third-largest figure in Ukraine, after Kyiv and Dnipro.

As part of the Presentation platform, Oksana Holovko, the Director of the department of investment innovative development and foreign relations of Donetsk regional state administration, has shared with the participants up-to-date information regarding the investment potential of the Donetsk region, paying particular attention to the high concentration of qualified experts and significant natural resources of the region.

“The assistance of the international community should be aimed at building sustainable solutions and institutional capacity,” stated the Manager of UNDP’s Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme, Victor Munteanu. He has also emphasized the importance of supporting and developing the private sector and private initiative projects.

As part of the Demonstration platform, an Interactive presentation of the investment portal of Donetsk region DO invest took place, along with the presentation of exhibition expositions and communication with exhibition participants.
