On the 1st of September, with the support of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the team PPP Agency together with more than 70 participants from other public authorities of Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan started the third and final stage of an international PPP certification program – APMG Certified PPP Professional (CP3P): Execution.

This program is the result of combined efforts of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), represented by the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF), the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), the World Bank Group (WBG) and the APMG International company. It is funded by the Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF).

The creation of a program that would unify knowledge of PPP practitioners from around the world was necessitated by the rising awareness among governments of the advantages of the PPP mechanism and the need for its more widespread adoption.

The first two stages have enabled our experts to deepen their understanding of various features and peculiarities of PPP project identification, structuring, evaluation, as well as tender documentation and contract drafting.

During the third stage, the team of the PPP Agency will learn in detail what experience other countries had in tendering, contract signing with a winning bidder and contract management, including strategy, delivery, commissioning, operation and the return of an asset to the public partner after the contract expiration date.

The program will illuminate potential difficulties that the public partner might face at different stages of a project lifecycle. It will detail how those difficulties can be avoided and what can be done to resolve them efficiently if they do arise. Information covers the construction process (including schedule and quality management), force majeure management, dispute resolution, early contract termination and more.

This new knowledge will help the team of the PPP Agency to support the development of the PPP mechanism in Ukraine and implement professionally and effectively important for our country projects,.
